Ramtron subsidiary shows growth with management additions, new sales office, trademark

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 19, 1997--Ramtron International Corp.'s (NASDAQ:RMTR) wholly owned subsidiary, Enhanced Memory Systems, Inc. announced today that it has expanded its management team, opened a new sales office and officially registered the EDRAM trademark.

Enhanced promoted Craig Rhodine to vice president and general manager and added two key sales and applications engineering personnel. In addition, the company has opened a Northern California sales office to serve North America's West Coast and the Pacific Rim, and registered the EDRAM product name with the U.S. trademark office.

"Our corporate growth reflects the increasing interest in our EDRAM and enhanced synchronous DRAM (ESDRAM) products around the world," explained Craig Rhodine, vice president and general manager of Enhanced. "We will continue to replace static random access memory (SRAM) in fast, real-world systems for one-third the cost."

New Personnel and Promotion

Craig Rhodine has been promoted to vice president and general manager of Enhanced. He also serves on Enhanced's board of directors. Rhodine has 12 years of engineering and management experience in the semiconductor industry. Prior to Enhanced, Rhodine was a member of the Group Technical Staff at Texas Instruments. He holds a bachelor's of science in electrical engineering from the University of Wyoming.

Patrick Cash has joined Enhanced as director of worldwide sales. Cash has 22 years experience in sales and marketing with such companies as Burr-Brown, General Instruments, Control Data Corp. and Motorola. He holds a bachelor's of science in electrical engineering from the University of Nebraska in Lincoln.

Michael Peters has joined Enhanced as applications engineering manager. Peters has 15 years of applications engineering experience with Motorola's fast SRAM division, nCHIP and National Semiconductor. He has published articles and applications notes on fast memory, and holds a bachelor's of science in electrical engineering from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. Peters was a contributor to portions of "High Performance Memories," Betty Prince, 1996.

Sales Office for West Coast and Pacific Rim

Enhanced has opened a sales office in San Jose, CA to serve North America's West Coast and the Pacific Rim countries. John VanConant is now the area's director of sales. VanConant has 22 years experience at Burroughs, Texas Instruments and Honeywell. He holds undergraduate and graduate degrees from Michigan State University. EDRAM(R) Memory Becomes Registered Trademark

The U.S. Trademark Office has awarded Enhanced Memory Systems with a registered trademark for its EDRAM(R) memory products. Enhanced has previously received a registered trademark for its Quickcache(R) logo.

Enhanced Memory Systems develops and markets the EDRAM(R) memory, ahigh performance specialty memory that combines DRAM and SRAM on one chip (patent pending). Enhanced is headquartered in Colorado Springs, Colo., and is a wholly owned subsidiary of Ramtron International Corp. (NASDAQ:RMTR).
