Associated Press
Monday, June 25, 2001

AUSTIN, Minn. -- Negotiations were expected to continue this week after workers at Quality Pork Producers Inc. rejected a contract offer.

Local 9 of the Food and Commercial Workers Union said 94 percent of the workers who voted on the contract proposal Friday rejected it. The union did not say how
many workers voted.

Company president Kelly Wadding said the union and management will likely resume negotiations this week.

The details of the contract offer were not released.
