IMO with legalization would come a decline in drug usage after a short term spike. Society would deal with the end of prohibition the same as it did with alcohol, tax the hell out of them and espouse responsible usage. Even if there was an increase in drug use the effects of that would be easier to deal with than the numerable problems we're causing with the 'War'....

Under normal circumstances I'd be in favor of legalizing pot in California if it wasn't for the fact that it would perpetuate the ever increasing spending and power of the state. Oh, who am I trying to kid, I'd still be in favor of legalization.....
