One of the people here who says we should close Gitmo points to data that say 18% of the people at Gitmo have no history of violence against the US or our allies, and no evidence of solid ties to Al Qaida or the Taliban. I have no idea how they determined that but if its true, fine let the 18% go. But closing Gitmo implies something like letting 100% go.

Well so far zero percent of the Gitmo detainees have even been accused of promoting violence against the US (they haven't been charged with anything), and zero percent of them have been proven to have committed acts of violence against the US. Zero.

Go ahead and keep Gitmo open, but justify the detention of the people that are detained there. Imprisonment without charge and conviction is unAmerican.
