Prime Minister Justin Trudeau just put a new minister, Dominic Leblanc, in charge of his gun ban and buyback debacle. Leblanc needs to hear what you think about this boondoggle. Trudeau just turfed his previous minister. You kept the pressure on. You hammered away. And Trudeau was forced to make a change. Your action is working. Now you need to keep the pressure on. The government plans to confiscate an estimated $4 billion worth of firearms. The Canadian Sporting Arms and Ammunition Association predicts the total cost of the buyback program will be in the billions. And the feds will make you pay for it. The government is wasting your money on a gun control scheme that won’t make anybody safer. New Zealand imposed a gun ban and buyback scheme in 2019. It didn’t work. The costs to administer it doubled and gun crime in New Zealand increased after the buyback. The new minister needs to know the gun buyback and boondoggle must be scrapped.
