great to hear you're doing better. :)

please note my previous comment... "it's my understanding that these are settings to help you troubleshoot display-related probs." if, for example, after now having installed the updates you wanted, you find that you need to keep the graphics acceleration adjustment all the way to the left, i'd interpret that as an obvious indication that there are still probs with your system. i will tell you that when in the past i have had similar difficulties, they were attributable to video drivers.

thanks, too, for the compliment. i don't consider myself to be anything approaching an expert. but what i have learned, i don't mind passing along in the hope that it helps someone else. i don't know where i'd be if it weren't for all the help i constantly get!
