IBM is the 2nd largest chip maker in the world. They're the only large manufacturer of both DRAM and CPUs. They have 0.35 micron fabs for PowerPC CPUs, RS/6000 CPUs, Cyrix CPUs, DRAM, and external foundry arrangements. They also have billions more in cash than Cyrix, AMD, NEC, and others. Intel is the only other company with similar resources.

The DRAM plant is in Burlington, VT. I don't know where the others are.

IBM has a habit of keeping quiet to avoid antitrust scrutiny. Their 10Ks and other info aren't much help, either. Don't let that stance lull you into forgetting they exist.
