Thanks for the short interest update. I am surprised to see such a high number as well but then I thought about it and think the following is possible.

There were rumblings about a large unreported offshore short position. I think this is what has been covered. In addition to that the shorts can maintain their position as long as they feel it won't be going up in the near future and still use the profits that they see for other stocks and activities without the need to cover.
