Wiki has a pretty good write up on it. Just like this one the Republicans were voted out and the Democrats took over congress. They killed the Reconstruction and derailed the civil rights movement and a violent sect of Democrats broke from the party to form the KKK. Not one of the more fun eras....<g> en.wikipedia.org
