I don't want the main idea of my earlier post to get lost. The style and composition of the ideas in the New Testament don't match the style and composition of ideas accessible through the use of psychedelics, such as shrooms or cactus.
Atropine (which is more of a "delusionogen" than a classic psychedelic) is much more in line with the righteous apocalyptic style of this body of text.
