They well remember how voting the death penalty down got Chief Justice Byrd run out of town on a rail. The commentary on this today is interesting. Yesterday, before the argument, the talking heads were all buzzing about how the Justices would be likely to invalidate the proposition. Maybe mph could weigh in on this, as she has insight into the CA legal scene.
