Unfortunately, that was all just more BS. Politicians take advantage of people who want to be liked, but they couldn't care less whether anyone likes them as long as they have the power. That was the most grating thing about Bush as far as liberals were concerned. Bush didn't give a rip and stuck to his principles. Of course, they were Christian principles, which made it even worse.
