Do you mean to say that such a big industry as sickness treatment is not free and capitalist? It must be just the financial industry such as Fannie, Freddie, JP Morgan, and all the rest which were capitalist and free, with no government imposts, rules, regulation and edicts to distort their rational investments. But rumour had it that Fannie and Freddie [for a start] were not totally separate from government.

Education certainly is not totally capitalist and free but there are privately owned and run schools. The welfare system certainly isn't capitalist and run by charitable private enterprise.

It doesn't seem to me that capitalism has been tried out and certainly hasn't been shown to fail.

Even if it is a law that hospitals have to accept Medicare and Medicaid patients and payments it doesn't mean people have to do the work specified. There is such a thing as conscientious objection. "I was just following orders" wasn't considered a good enough reason to join in with exterminating Jews and swarms of others in concentration camps. Saying that "I had to do it to get cash payments for the work I preferred" would certainly fall short of being approved by an ethics committee.

Whining now is not much use. They voted for what they are getting and they are getting it good and hard.
