Steve, re your existential horror, hit me very much between the eyes (or the ears g) but here's some points, not necessarily soothing, but still.

1. Houston may be a different place but what I saw in some TX places (Austin, San Antonio) is not herds of cows, its just those forbidding, tainted-glass buildings for miles ("where the future is being made today") and lanes and lanes of moving or standing traffic. So, let's not kid ourselves. We helped it come about. Jesus, it just hurts I know, if you look back on Quartier Latin.

2. As Juri (or whoever) mentioned already, the first ever human, name Adam, had the same problem, of eating of the tree of knowledge. You remember what he did first? He covered his balls - the bible says "his nakedness" but a careless reader sure misses the point - namely that Adam suddenly understood that his own creator, who gave him brain, but mercifully spared him knowledge, can now really kick his balls. The tree of knowledge... And nothing seems to be the same since.

3. Freedom means having nothing to lose (hey, Im as helpless as anybody else... Fade Neil Young in at this point),

4. Stick around - what else do we have left?

Still melancholic/philosophic DJ
