There are many threats out there.

BRCM is well aware of the threats. They are focused, they know their market and they have the expertise to deliver.

INTC, a company which has done well by me for many years is in a state of transition. Microprocessors, Server Farms, low end networking gear, x/DSL and so forth. There is only so much top tier management expertise and technical savants available to make a big difference at the world class level. BRCM regardless of its size is hands down the best at what it does and has the brightest minds working for it in this sector.

Perhaps we need to look at the problem from the other side.
Rather than "Does anyone else see this as a threat? (to BRCM)"
Perhaps we should consider does INTC see BRCM as a threat.

And if so, that is a good thing for it only reinforces the perception that BRCM is on the right track and INTC breathing down their neck will ensure that complacency will not seep into the company.
