Not to pick a quarrel, but the points you raised vis a vis that article can be addressed as such:
gap-filling: as this is a liquid, it will have superior characteristcs compared to current methods
thermal stability: silanes are inherently more stable than current
materials used.
moisture and adhesion: as above, silanes are known to be among
the best materials in these qualities as well -- and
one of the few that are truly usable and marketable.
adhesion: this formula seems to have adequate, if not superior
adhesive properties
low-toxicity: not really an issue. The chemicals currently used
aren't exactly fit for the dinner table.
need for CMP: as per the press release, this formula should elimate the need for CMP in many cases.

The big question, sportsfans, is whether this technique is reliable in mass-production scenarios. An additional concern could, perhaps, be the company's relatively small manufacturing capabilities. In any case, this is a legitimate scientifc breakthrough. As to whether or not it will be a financial windfall... no body makes money in situations where there is no uncertainty...
