James, sounds almost like our stock purchase program here. we pay no commissions and get a 15% discount from what the market is selling at transaction time. so we don't pile up on shares, we are limited to 10% of our monthly salary. i do use a discount broker but thinking of going E-TRADE to pay even a lower commissions. your comments are something to consider when it comes to DRIPS. much cleaner buying block shares from an E-TRADE account. thanks.. good trading.. rh
