I don't think most women involved in sexual liasons with powerful men feel the need to rat on them.

I think it depends on the amount of emotional investment involved, the promises made, the promises kept, etc.

If a powerful man is up-front about his intentions and is dealing with a more or less mature woman, probably no repercussions since it is probably a truly consensual thing. The problems arise when the woman is young, impressionable, and the man lies about what he wants and why he wants it. Monica was the epitome of this kind of affair, Jennifer Flowers of the other.
