The real travesty is no one has been fined, put in jail or suffered any penalty at all. It's just accepted as whoops, pay now and everything is forgiven.

There is no way tax cheats should be serving in high government positions. Especially heading the IRS. To do otherwise is to invite tax fraud on a massive scale.

Look for more and more Americans to cheat on a massive scale. A few dollar mistake is understandable, a 40K dollar, or 100K dollar mistake is fraud.
