| Dumb pricing from Starlink. =
atellite broadband provider is thought to have around 2.7 million subscribers currently. Its service offerings have also been widened lately; Starlink in New Zealand is targeting residential customers with a $159 a month standard service plan, and a $79 per month deprioritised plan on which users will experience slower speeds during peak hours.

Kiwi customers can also opt for the roam mobile plan with unlimited data, or boats which also has no caps for inland use, and 50 gigabyte, 1 TB and 5 TB limits while on the ocean, with the top seafaring plan costing $8250 a month.

For the residential and roam plans Starlink recommends the $599 Dishy satellite terminal, whereas for boats the company suggests the $4567 flat high performance hardware.

Business users can subscribe to fixed Starlink offerings starting at 40 GB for $196 a month, going to $2507 per month for 6 TB; the caps are for priority data, and there are no limits to data use. There are also inland mobile service options, along with maritime and aviation ones.

It's still possible that Globalstar could build a new constellation with rational pricing of megabytes and equipment and beat Starlink. But they won't do it because changing thinking isn't possible for nearly everyone. They'd rather die than figure out they were wrong and especially be told so. Starlink probably can't change thinking either. Elon Musk is fairly intelligent and having copied some of my ideas has got a lot right. But he can't do it all so has depended on dumbo pricing people while he obviously has focused on engineering rather than pricing.

I bet it would take him only about a minute of thinking to realize they've got it wrong. And he does accept other ideas when he sees that they are better ideas than dumb ideas. For example, at first he offered to fight Putin for Ukraine. Then, after much carnage, he adopted my answer for the war in Ukraine that Nobel Peace Prize Obama, Zbigniew, Victoria, DementiaJoe10% and co started back in 2013 [and got hot in 2014].

Those Nobel people have totally ruined their brand = they're a joke.
