>>PROVO, Utah--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 25, 1996--iMALL Inc. (OTC BB:IIML), Monday announced that two 30-minute television infomercials dealing with the Internet have been successfully tested in select U.S. markets and will begin airing nationally in January on cable and network television.
"The infomercials have generated an even higher level of response in their initial tests than expected," said Mark Comer, iMALL senior vice president. "We will continue to test them in various markets through mid-December for the purpose of determining our roll-out strategy for January '97."
The first infomercial was produced by one of the world's largest producers of infomercials, Positive Response Television. The 30-minute show contains information about iMALL's educational workshops and seminars that are held more than 300 times a year across the country. Through these programs, businesses and individuals are taught how to profit from the Internet.
The second infomercial offers an introductory Internet package that demonstrates how profitable Internet commerce can be. Also included in the package is information on Internet navigation as well as AT&T's WorldNet software, Netscape's Personal Trainer and Browser, and an introduction and tour of the iMALL.
The two infomercials began airing the beginning of November and will continue airing on a test basis through the middle of December.
The infomercials will add a new level of communication and exposure to millions of new households nationwide. iMALL's marketing efforts already include radio and newspaper advertising, direct mail, product packaging, retail displays and direct selling through its thousands of independent Internet consultants.
"The addition of the infomercials to iMALL's marketing plan is an important step for us," added Comer. "Not only are we the first to deliver the Internet commerce message through a major television campaign, but our promotional partnerships with iMALL stores means the iMALL name is building recognition through nearly every marketing medium available.
"The net effect of this exposure is a significant increase in hits to the iMALL site which directly converts to increased income through additional product sales and higher transaction fees on all commercial sales." << |
