I was wondering if someone could come up with a concise description of the comparisons between various broadband comm technologies into the home. I have read up on some of this, but have not kept up to date over the last 8 months or so. Specifically, what are the current advantages of each xDSL technology versus cable? What types of cable hookups to the home are there out there, in what percentages, and what is the current cable infrastructure updating being done and in what timeframe? Be sure to include economical and timeframe advantages of one technology over another. I realize that this is a tall order, but I think that it is necessary to get this thread going. We can compile lists and those who are "in-the-know" can refute what people post.
