ESCMF develops, manufactures and markets medical devices utilizing lasers and proprietary intense pulsed light technology for non-invasive treatment of varicose veins and other benign vascular lesions, as well as other clinical applications. For the fiscal year ended 12/31/97, net sales rose 89% to $114.9 million. Net income rose 50% to $21.8 million. Results reflect higher sales of PhotoDerm VL, partially offset by a $4.3 million charge for the purchase of AOC and a $4.7 million merger expense. Yuck...two 15% shareholders are looking to modify the BoD...reaction to this today might be leftover shareholder optimism, and the PR hit the wires late (1545) last Friday...although today's run was pretty strong...FA would give a better idea if this could be turned into a quick little short position... The play...I don't like it, bad vibes. There's better stuff out there.
