Bill, it is from Network World, via Individual Inc. 8 April. Quoted Craig Farrell, Chief Technical Officer of AirTouch, "We're not completely comfortable yet. Voice quality is not consistent and calls are dropped more frequently than we would like." They will continue to test in Los Angeles and not bring to other areas until satisfied.
US West cellular said CDMA had caused some interference with analog but they have since solved the problem.
Ameritech Cellular originally planned TDMA but customers were not happy with voice quality so are going CDMA.

I know that one method of preventing interference they use is to keep a small space on either side of the allocated spectrum. The interference is at the edge of the spectrum [I think that is correct - not certain].
Sorry, I don't know how to copy it, and it is copyright material anyway. There is a web link through Silicon Investor - that's how I found it. Individual Inc provide a news clipping service, delivered each morning. They charge $7 per month. You can get brief stories or full if you subscribe. I recommend you have a look.

If you would transcribe some comments from the tape to here about Hong Kong experience, I would really appreciate it.
