I got my eye on this company recently by reading an article on page 102 of the 4-29-96 issue of Computerworld. Besides this article, I also visited the company's home page for more product information and will extract financial data from SEC filing sites.
Face it, it is a small company. Its news are scare - I found only a few available in the internet. Although its products are internet/intranet related - one of the prime choice of firewall, they are relatively unknown to an average internet end user. Unlike Yahoo's hot publicity with seasoned after market backing from its market maker, I think the lack of news, media exposure and attention from portfolio investors are some of the reasons that the stock is not having much momentum at all. Its trade volume is quite low each day. I have taken into the consideration that it is a recent IPO stock, I see some indication of support in the low 30's however.
The company does sound promising - its products, its relationship with Compaq and HP...etc. Its size may also make it a potential target for buyout; or would it? I could dig out more info for the company's financial and do more researches, etc... But that is not enough -- I am not a user. There is only one other company call Secure Computing (SCUR) is listed and some 30 more small private company developing firewall products out there. We must know more about this company, its management, distribution methods, product satisfaction ratings, orders/committments, competition, market share, etc., you name it. Are there any users out there (particularly those who had compared the company's products with other vendors')? I am now leaning towards longing this stock, but are there investor who have better reasons to short it? Please drop me a line. I will come back with more information. Best wishes. |
