CHLOR ALKALI PRODUCTS Chlor Alkali sales for the first quarter of 2005 were $143.7 million, compared to $99.9 million in the first quarter of 2004. The increase reflects the combination of a 62% increase in ECU prices and a 3% decrease in chlorine and caustic volumes. Chlor Alkali segment income during the quarter was $58.6 million, compared to $10.4 million in the first quarter of 2004. The significantly higher level of income reflects the impact of higher prices, partially offset by higher electricity costs and slightly lower sales volumes due to rail service problems and customer outages.
