MICROLOGIX RAISES $5.75 MILLION FROM EXERCISE OF WARRANTS

VANCOUVER, Sept. 25 /CNW/ - Micrologix Biotech Inc. announced today it
has raised $5.75 million through the exercise of common share purchase
warrants that were issued as part of a private placement in September 1994. A
total of 2,257,204 common shares were issued this month pursuant to the
exercise of the warrants. This funding brings the Company's cash position to
approximately $17.8 million and the number of common shares outstanding to
20,202,961.
Mr. Dany Hadary, President and CEO of Micrologix, attributes the exercise
of the warrants to the confidence shown by institutional investors in the
Company's cationic peptide platform technologies and anti-infective drug
compounds. ``This further strengthens our financial capability to pursue
Micrologix' corporate goals which include advancing pre-clinical programs for
systemic and topical indications, progressing towards clinical trials and
securing strategic alliances with major pharmaceutical companies for the
collaborative development and commercialization of drug candidates.''

to the discovery, development and commercialization of novel anti-infective
compounds. The Company's drug development program is based on proprietary

infections.
