There's always the option of admitting the failure of your little experiment, and turning Alta California back over to its rightful owners
At a place my wife and i know well, Misol-já in Chiapas, a waterfall on a river almost completely undeveloped, pure selva for kilometres each side, the movie Predator was filmed .... every little kid in nearby towns claimed just after that to have Ahnald as a personal friend .... ten years later, kids who weren't even born at the time are fascinated by the man, apparently he would stroll around the streets in the evenings and talk to everybody, buy ice cream for an hundred kids, stuff like that ..... very personable fellow, there are tens of thousands of chiapanecos who would vote for him, were they old enough
