Franklin Mining, Inc., COMIBOL Nearing Completion of Contract Negotiation
LAS VEGAS, NV, Mar 14, 2006 (MARKET WIRE via COMTEX) -- Franklin Mining, Inc. (OTC: FMNJ), COMIBOL and a federation of local cooperatives representing several thousand workers have nearly completed their agreement designed to increase productivity at the Cerro Rico [silver] Mine, Potosi, Bolivia. If finalized, the agreement will result in the formation of a Joint Venture between Franklin Mining, COMIBOL and the workers' cooperatives.
COMIBOL is a mining corporation owned by the government of Bolivia and the Cerro Rico is, historically, one of the most productive mines in the world.
In announcing that negotiations are nearly complete, Jaime Melgarejo, CEO of Franklin, stated that he believes "our new agreement will result in a long term relationship between all participants." The goal is higher revenues for COMIBOL, significant cash flow for Franklin Mining and better wages and improved working conditions for the cooperatives' miners.
