Commish, What is happening with SGI? Good question - I'm sure everyone reading this thread is dying to know (or just dying period).

Here's a question: Do you think some of the folks working for high tech public companies resent the position they're in, almost like Princess Di and the crazy media? After all, in the investing world, people must get hounded for information. CEO's of fast moving stocks are celebrities to people like us. A photographer could have made a million shooting a private scene of Di and Dodi, and a news hound could make even more getting some critical info about a company. It must be madness to be at the center of this attention, particularly if you don't enjoy it.

I believe SGI mgt could smooth out the revenue stream but maybe doesn't give a crap about the greedy bastards trying to squeeze their blood. Perhaps they get some pleasure out of hosing all the "investors" (better word: bettors). Ever seen an NFL game where at the very end the score crosses the point spread 3 times, or Pittsburgh lines up to kick a field goal and it's blocked and returned for a TD by Jax to cover the spread? I think if I were a player I'd enjoy torturing the bettors that way. We make prostitutes out of them - sacrificing their bodies for money. Same thing with some engineers - sacrificing their mental powers for money. Why not let the earnings fall where they may and laugh when all the investors, analysts, and gamblers get disappointed. I wouldn't blame them one bit.

Just food for thought.
