sounds like SAP has more to be worried about than Oracle.

hey SAP develops their software on Oracle and then ports to other platforms to be "open" - meaning they make their other ports slower and dumber in the name of open systems. Since the vast majority of fortune 500 companies looking for enterprise applications already use ORCL - the door is open for Oracle to really hit one over the germans heads. Oracle continues to roll out applications and have even begun to add modules around SAP - a big revenue oppty and one that keeps the door open even if they have "lost" the deal to SAP.

In my opinion Peoplesoft is the nimbler and more dangerous competitor. SAP is the IBM of the software world - big, slow, expensive - they were just their first.
