I think your telcom call is much wiser then semis.. I think the one impoortant note to make on the semis is that unlike the rest of the economy, this is one sector that is NOT going to recover any time soon..

Im talking a decade, possibly more. I was in the business in the mid 80s and watched as there was no demand, and the pc sector just died... Now I see the same scenario (much worse so far as lack of demand these last few quarters), and on top of that- there is soooo much supply out there its sickening..

Companies liek Intel and AMD really made it difficult to stick to my convictions.. people so desperately wanted the bottom.. and people probably still wont get it going into the next year.. but this sector is dead money.. I believed that 6 months ago, and I believed it when I covered my 4th trip around the sector last week.. and I believe it even more so now after seeing whats happening at AMD which was much worse then I ever expected.. I knew intel was full of shit, just not THAT much.. and Im certain the reverse is true this time meaning that whats bad for AMD is much worse for Intel.. Intel is in deep poo poo..

and as usuall, im in a really foul mood now because I covered all my semi shorts last week.. Thank god they didnt squeeze me and I can say I profited from my arrogance.. My only semi short now is MU, but that will be a 2 year hold if need be.. I think every single investor should have at least 5 shares short this total piece of bloated garbage because when the mutual funds start bailing, its going to fall like a rock into the 20s..

... At 3:50 I almost bought AMAT and some other semis... You can bet that I wouldnt be posting those purchases if I had made them : )
