The NC reduces network traffic only compared to running a PC with all the apps on the file server. If you run it, like most people, with the apps on the client, then I agree, the NC will increase network traffic. DanG seems to be comparing running the apps on a file server vs running a Java app on the NC. Now, why couldn't you run that Java app on a NetPC?

Of course, I'm not so convinced that Java is the universal panacea, but Dan says it is and won't explain why. Oh well.
