Bearded One,

It sounds likea a great thing for the CD-R/CD-RW market;
not a particular threat to Iomega. Although we've covered this
technology a few times, it was briefly concluded that:

The 'R' drives are in the same $$ range as Jaz, but you only get
650 Mb, thus not a Jaz-Killer. The 'RW' drives are more expensive;
the 'RW' media has a questionable life-span. I think those were
the main conclusions. Besides, IOM caters to the 'average Jane';
you won't see middle America talking about their new CD-RW in the
donut shop. Zip is different. It's everywhere (almost).

Personally, I love ADPT (the company) and own their stock.
But IOM isn't going away because of DirectCD. BTW ADPT doesn't
'jostle' around so much like IOM; it just goes up -- it's dull
but profitable. I use IOM to fill some of my thrill quotient.
