To Hell with pundit opinion.

There was no debate winner of last night, in fact there was no debate. All we saw was the televised histrionic of Mr. Gore, complete with canned blurbs, gestures and politically incorrect stage-positioning; "a tale told by an idiot, full of strife and fury signifying nothing."

Bush wasn't much better; he fumbled opportunity after opportunity to clarify his positions. However, in the end GW seemed genuinely staggered by Gore's rendition of the "Ali shuffle." If Gore had been debating Khrushchev he would have been hit with a shoe in round one.

The referee? My God, he was laughable ineffective. Poor Jim, he resembled something dug out of the WWF archives - where is Judge Mills Lane when you need him?

So what did we learn from all three debates? It looks as though Gore is just another political phony whose debate demeanor is totally obnoxious. GW, well he looked like a punch-drunk fighter groping for his corner.

The evening was better spent by those who viewed baseball.
