Rob-Chemist:

I think that bit growth is an important factor to consider as well. My observation is that Korea, Taiwan, Singapore, and some other Asian nations are trying to build large-scale semiconductor production infrastructures. If they are committed to this strategy, and bit growth continues to grow at 70 to 100% clips, then they have no choice but to invest. If they choose to not invest then they stand a chance to loose share to other countries who will step-up to the opportunity.

If bit growth is this important, then weakness of the Asian currencies relative to the US Dollar may reduce the dollar based consumer discretionary spending in Asia. This may impact world wide bit growth.

These currencies relatively to the Dollar need to strengthen.
