RE: "George, you have been right in the short term selling DEC..... you could miss the future profits easily in CPQ"

If I may clarify my recent trading. My call option positions expired in Jan. (worthless). I jumped back in with April 50 calls as DEC ran up just before takeover announcement(instinct play/ lucky guess). As they ran 11 points into the money I bought protective 60 puts. When the puts expired, and DEC edged toward 60 I cashed in the calls (thank goodness). Then I did a compaq straddle, April 35 calls and March 30 puts (thank goodness again for the puts which cost less than 3/8). UNFORTUNATLY, today I became a bit more bullish and SOLD the 30 puts and bought the same type (but 1/3 less) straddle 30 calls / 25 puts (keeping the April 35 calls).
Now with the compaq warning, even if it goes to 20 fast, I make 50% less for the sin of being more bullish, unless a miracle happens and cpq recovers by April.
Call me Smokey, Yogi or Boo-Boo, but don't call me Ferdinand.
