The smoking fingers trick is done by peeling the flints off a couple of book matches and burning them flint side down on a coin. I use a quarter. A resin is deposted on the coin from the burning flint. This is the prep work you don't show the other person. After making your claim that you can make your fingers smoke, wipe the resin off the coin with your thumb, put the coin back in your pocket and rub your fingers together.
