I think it is just a case of a buyers' strike, allowing the shorts to continue controlling the sector as they have the past few days (they probably could have taken RON down a lot further if not for the uptick rule).

I don't think any fund is in a rush to show these stocks on its list of holdings for the end of quarter. Unfortunately, I don't see why they would rush in tomorrow either. I don't know whether anyone wants to hold through earnings. I missed all my sell orders today on the gap down opening, and I stupidly held through the day.
