mr. mark, yes to both. My firmware is 1.40.2 dated Nov 28.2001 and the reason I'm not upgrading is this note by Linksys Note - Firmware upgrades are for the resolution of any problems you may be encountering with the router and not for additional features. Installing newer firmware on a presently-functioning router may result in router malfunction. Please be aware of this when downloading firmware. Gottfried
