Mike,

I am a die hard Mac user and I love my zip drives; it's great for my desktop systems and really helpful for my 5300ce powerbook. The iomega guest software makes the drive so easy to plug into another Mac (say a friend's or neighbor's Mac) w/o the iomega driver having to be pre-installed into their computers. The zip takes the pain out of floppies that can't store enough, the pain of going through thousands of diskettes to find the disk that you need (very time consuming), and the cheap cost to store data and quicktime (unlike other optical and tape drives). The zip does not run slow at all on my PowerMacs.

I can't talk about future CD products (stuff like CD-E) now cuz these products are unavailable and I have not had hands on experience with these "future products" yet, but when they do come out, I'll be one of the first to judge their performance, since I love upgrading to the latest and best technologies. As for now the Zip rules and will probably rule for at least a few more years.

May (Long IOMG)
