hi pw,

i completely agree with you about system works. i'm about ready to purchase it myself, being already a user and a big fan of norton's products. system works will represent for me an upgrade from utilities3.0 to 4.0. i already have antivirus 5.0. i love their win doctor component that fixes windows problems. as i've mentioned before on this thread, the very first time i ran it, it identified and repaired 54 windows problems! that alone made a dramatic difference in my pc's performance. nu4.0, a part of system works, also includes a new 'connection doctor' that performs a thorough modem check. pc magazine can't say enough good things about this software suite, giving norton's products their editor's choice award time after time. i've read also that utilities 4.0 has significantly reduced the 'performance hit' that occurred with the previous version. one can further reduce some of this impact by not running every single component continuously in the background.

if i sound like i own shares in SYMC, well, it's only because their products are so helpful. as for owning the stock, i don't. i should, but i don't.

:)
