Actually I was recruited here by an old friend who knew how much I loved it here a few years ago. Sometimes the political situation and the way "Asian Business" is done frustrates the hell out of me, but I sooner or later get over it....
A good plate of fresh prawns along with some barbi Siakap from Kuala Selangor usually does the trick ;-)
Really do love the folks here and enjoy everything but the DAMN highway construction. Make a bet with you, if you've been gone thirty years, I'll race you from Ampang Point to the airport or to Genting. ;-0. You pick the the wager.....
Maybank is one of the core instituions designated by the gov't. The only thing that keeps me away from them is, being the largest bank they also have some hugh exposures to the insane development schemes going on. My fear is that there will be no one to buy the thousands of 'homes' or there will be no one to pay the rent on the millions of sq. ft. of office space.
As for the trading range of PBB, I find it typically to run from 1.60 to 1.90 +. Buying in multiple lots at small risk of getting wiped out and "potentially" getting a return of say, 15%, isn't so bad. Considering this is the third time this year that I've played with this one it makes for something interesting to watch in the local bourse. Keeping my hand in so-to-speak.
I will be coming back to "the world", as they used to say some years ago, in July and if there is anything you would like from Home let me know.
