"I used to tend toward Isolationism also, before 911."

In a way i was too. I used to measure fp in terms of strict construction of national interest. Iraq proves to me that post 9/11 should not mean that we should ignore national interest. In retrospect, without wmds, iraq posed less of a threat and thus we didnt have to go to war in 2003. Only history will tell us if the iraq war of 2003 was a net success or not.
By the way have you noticed that the pressure is building for us to come to that crook Aristedes rescue (again) in Haiti. The left will lead that charge to save the haitian version of arafat and Bush will be reticent to intervene because there is no overriding issue of national interest to intervene. Mike
