Mike Birck already addressed Kevin Petrie's 8/14/98 street.com speculation above: i've spent 30 minutes looking for the source and can't find it to quote verbatim. Essentially, during the hoopla on AT&T no longer testing Ciena's 16-channel product, Mike said in a much more diplomatic way that TLAB is used to AT&T's ways, and not depending on AT&T for 4th Q significant revenues anyway...implying had other ideas for meeting, rather, exceeding expectations for 30th consecutive quarter. LOL.
