I think o'reilly is getting soft, he's probably too afraid of a law suit... who in the world would actually believe what a newspaper prints? That's ridiculous, those rags will print anything you give them...

I never met a reporter that I felt comfortable with, they'll write anything to earn their lunch money for that day, so that story better be good, they don't care about writing what you tell them, they'll twist it around and claim you said something else, after the interview and on the way back to their office they'll cook up some twisted version of what you said, and by the time they get back to their desk they have a great fantasy they can give to their editor for a nice pat on the head and a paycheck for the day... I've had occasions when I met and spoke with reports, all of them are vultures and liars...

Yes, I think your theory makes clear and logical sense, it could have happened exactly like that, and in fact I believe it happens like that many times each year...
