Liberalism is a mental disorder - or something like that Imagine what would happen if (most) people would all together agree to follow their better (?) altruistic impulses... become their brother's keepers. Wouldn't the world be a better place? This may only happen if people - one by one - choose to feel this way... and ignore the (rightist) naysayers. So, if you and I want to do the right thing, we ought to start feeling this way. This, to a large extent, is at the root of the socialistic fantasy. (Of course, if at some point some atavistic individuals will refuse to follow us, we may have to apply tough love in order to straighten them out. For the sake of a greater happiness of the majority, we may have to come down pretty hard on dissenters... but let's not think about this right now).
