Folds vary in size. The length of the vein here can be thought of in terms of the plunge length. Veins in Beardmore Geraldton camp persisted to great lengths along the plunge and with fair continuity to depth. This is why the camp had good economics and ran until 1972 from about 1934. It was Canada's fifth largest gold camp. It is actually quite cheap to develop ore in saddle reef structures as they are quite predictable. Lac Minerals made money on the Mcleod which they mined til 1972, and they were going to reopen it when they hit at Hemlo. They were one of Canada's most agressive juniors but suffered from a lack of vision and depth.
