Testing Both 3.0 Browsers, I'd go for MSFT's Internet Explorer has being one up on Netscape Navigator. I answer technical service questions concerning hardware and software and I also have a web page and do HTML programming.

I've never tested Internet Explorer (IE) since the 1.0 version way back and never went back to try out later IE versions since Netscape definately fit my needs. Anyhow, I've lately had the urge to check out how IE works since it's being offered as standard with upgrade versions of AT&T's Worldnet Service and also America Online has chosen to integrated IE into their AOL 3.0 software for Windows 95. Was I missing something from the crappy 1.0 version that everyone else seems to embrace?

I tried out both versions and I would have to say both performed very well. In fact, I would have to say both performed the SAME. The only difference is that MSFT's IE had a such a gorgeous interface and Netscape still had an interface that looked similar to the 1.0 version way back. Microsoft definately knows how to use their years of experience pumping up their browser.

I was also impressed with the Microsoft's Wizards that helped you connect your browser, newsreader, & mail to your ISP. This really impressed me. Also, the news and mail interface was awesome.

Now I see why most of the huge ISP's & Online services like AOL, AT&T Worldnet, and CompuServe have decided to go with MSFT's Internet Explorer. You pretty much get the same brower, the only difference is that MSFT's browser is much prettier and friendlier to "Newbies" or "Internet Dummies" and it's FREE.
