Steve - re: OEM prices have always been lower than upgrades since NT 3.1

Bullshit. I was involved in OEM negotiations for NT3.1, 3.5, 3.51, and NT4 - the vendor was not the largest OEM but still had volume in the top tier. The best price offered by MSFT was more than 150% of the upgrade price in every case. I'll find out if MSFT changed their model but I doubt it, why would they?

The best SELECT price was slightly better than the best OEM price - that was Select D... the volume commitment was equivalent to 10,000 server licenses to get that price. It was also about 50% higher than the upgrade price.

Are you sure you're getting those bits through an authorized channel?
